Does anyone have suggestions on this stamp? It's a Belgian stamp and shows our king Leopold II (I?), so this is probably something unofficial, but I can not find any information on it. Can anyone help me?

Here's another Belgian mint stamp from the Belgian World Exposition in 1897. Does anyone have more information on this stamp and its use? I have 2 of them in perfect mint condition and wonder if they are worth something.

ANSWERS:

The Brussels Exhibition of 1897 gave rise to hundreds of different labels, some of them speculative colours made for collectors. They are still comparatively common. A listing will be found on pages 35 to 38 of "Catalogue des Timbres Commemoratifs parus depuis leur creation jusqu'en 1914" by M.M.Cazan & Rochas. This catalogue, although far from complete is still a handy reference for Exhibition Poster Stamps. It was published in 1914 by La Revue Francaise des Collectionneurs, Paris. Your two labels are possibly worth about $1 each.

Could anyone give me any information about this stamp?

ANSWERS:

C#103 is definetly a coupon. A "rebate-or discountstamp" issued by a co -operative in Dortmund/ Germany. It shows the seal of the bakers guilt. Shops taking part in this co-operative would give them to their clients. These stamps were collected in little booklets, which when filled up with stamps would be good for a cerain discount.
